Supporting volunteers and Community
is the heart and soul of the
Eaglehawk Community House
We value a ‘whole of community
approach’ inviting all citizens to visit, to socially connect, to join in
and participate in a fun, relaxed, friendly, welcoming, non-judgemental yet
very active location. We encourage engagement to build new friendships,
learn/share new skills and gain experience leading to greater confidence and
self-esteem, minimizing loneliness and isolation.
We seek to address social
inequalities and increase life opportunities for people who are disadvantaged
and vulnerable, by encouraging supporting the development of self-help skills,
social interaction and participation.
And also provide educational and
training, counselling, mentoring and advocating with the aim of reducing
isolation from the community and increasing awareness of and access to support
services available within the community.
